The Othering & Belonging Institute at UC Berkeley addresses issues around equality for all people, the interconnectedness of us all, and our relationship with our environment. They're a central hub that brings together researchers, community organizers, policymakers and other stakeholders, into research and analysis, all in support of a more-equitable society. We partnered with OBI to deliver a comprehensive digital transformation, rebuilding their website on Drupal to support accessibility, mobile responsiveness, and long-term scalability. The project included a complete redesign of the site’s structure and user experience, with an emphasis on clean, flexible layouts that elevate OBI’s mission-driven content.

UC Berkeley’s College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS) partnered with Black Antelope to transform its digital presence in anticipation of its transition from a division to a full-fledged college. The project involved migrating from a proprietary platform to the latest version of Drupal, ensuring a scalable and flexible foundation. Accessibility was a key focus, with the site designed to meet ADA WCAG 2.1 AA standards, incorporating keyboard navigation and leveraging Siteimprove for ongoing compliance. The redesign emphasized a mobile-first approach, delivering a user-friendly experience across devices, and played a crucial role in supporting CDSS’s fundraising efforts and establishing a strong online identity.

The Washington State Department of Commerce partnered with Black Antelope to redesign its website with a focus on accessibility, multilingual support, and intuitive navigation. Built on WordPress, the site features translation into 12 languages via WPML, robust site-wide search powered by Algolia, and compliance with WCAG accessibility standards. The result is a modern, user-friendly platform that supports diverse audiences and advances the agency’s mission of strengthening communities across Washington State.
