AJAX

AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. It is not a new technology, but rather the use of a group of technologies/standards to exchange data with a server, and then update a part of a web page without reloading the entire thing. This technique has opened the door to many inventive and useful interaction paradigms, widgets, and design patterns, and has given developers the freedom to build full web applications that operate similarly to installed desktop applications.
